Minimum Requirements
18 Years Old or Older
Due to potential for being sent to disaster stricken areas, we require all volunteers to be 18 years of age or older. For those under the age of 18, please inquire about our youth volunteer opportunities.
Active Church Affiliation
As we are a Christian faith based organization we require that all of our volunteers have an active and in good standing affiliation with a Christian church.
Reliable Transportation
Due to the possibilities of deployments to disaster stricken area, we require that all volunteers have reliable transportation OR a stable transportation plan. Those who do not own or have access to a vehicle are still welcome to volunteer if they have a stable transportation plan in place.
No Active Criminal Cases
We understand that people make mistakes and by the grace of God and through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ we are forgiven of our wrong doings. However, due to the nature of our ministry we do require that all volunteers be free and clear of any and all legal issues to include traffic. We will complete background checks to ensure all of our volunteers are legally allowed to participate in the activities and services we provide. Please see our “Disqualifications” section for more information.
Sign Legal Agreements
All volunteers will be required to sign legal documentation to protect the ministry and the volunteer. These documents cover topics such as liability, privacy protection, and permission to use the volunteers image for marketing purposes. Please see the “Legal Agreements” section for more information.
Willing To Train
All volunteers will be required to participate in minimum mandated training. The training will consist of basic first aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed, personal safety, and various others as they arise.
After initial training, additional training will be provided for mission specific roles. Examples of these roles are Food Services, Search and Rescue, Community Emergency Response Team, and Medical Support Response Team.
Disqualifications
Even though we are a faith based organization we have to place certain restrictions and limits who can volunteer. The disqualifications below are ones that would prevent an individual from performing certain duties. These restrictions are mostly set in place due to legal and safety concerns. If any of the following place you in the disqualification category, PLEASE reach out to us so we can see if we can place you in another service capacity.
